Visited the mangroves which are small trees that grow in coastal saline, or blackish water. The term is also used for tropical coastal vegetation consisting of such species. Mangroves occur worldwide in the tropics 25N and 25 S of the equator worldwide. 53,190 square miles in 118 countries.

The coast presents a high density of eco systems. The mangroves are home to an important biological wealth. And provide a wide range of resources and enviormental services. Example, they store and recycle dissolved nutrients, pesticides, pollutants and organic matter. Additionally, the carbon storage capacity makes it a priority eco system to mitigate global climate change. This type of Mangrove is very high Carbon content.

The birds were plentiful we saw, snowy egrets, great egrets, American pigmy kingfishers, turkey buzzards, blue heron, great blue heron, tropical comorant, kisadte, whimbrel, boatbill heron and a frigate bird. Four eyed fish and many ants and termites.
