Nous sommes enfin aux Îles de la madeleine. Après 23h30 de navigation, nous sommes arrivés à Havre Aubert. Nous avons fait en moyenne de 6 à 7 noeuds avec un vent Sud Est, Sud. J'avais très hâte de voir ce coin de paradis, comme le décrivent ceux qui ont dans le coeur cet endroit et qui y reviennent fréquamment. Ont sent la mer et la vie des pêcheurs, à voir la quantité de bateau de pêche ont comprend que c'est la source de revenue principale pour les madelinots. Le territoire de ces 12 îles s'étend sur 100 kilomètres. Une population de 12 milles habitants occupents ce littoral bordé de plage de sable fin. Les paysages sont tout a fait particulier avec ces petites maisons de couleurs pastel en bardeau de cèdre.... read more

Hello, We are alive and well and on the Island of Madeliene located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. www.tourismeilesdelamadeleine.com We have had some difficulty getting internet connection so our blogs have not gone out yet. But we are working on them and the photos as well. This first entry is just to catch up and let you know that we haven’t forgotten you. The wedding was lovely and we have been having fun traveling through Maine, New Brunswick and especially Prince Edward Island (PEI). It was on PEI we first heard of this island and decided to take ferry for 5 hours along with our RV and spend several days here. We return to Souris harbor to get tickets to Isle de la Madeleine. The Bothan is measured so the transportation cost can be determined. It is a five hour trip north in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. It is a remote location with wonderful beaches and dunes. Since the Isle de la Madeleine is part of Quebec, the language is French and the visitors are mostly French. It is strange seeing no signs in English and few people who speak English. The ferry ride is smooth and we arrive early with bright sunshine and head south to Ile du Harve Aubert to stay at a campground on the Gulf of St..
