We return to Souris harbor to get tickets to Isle de la Madeleine. The Bothan is measured so the transportation cost can be determined. It is a five hour trip north in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. It is a remote location with wonderful beaches and dunes.
Since the Isle de la Madeleine is part of Quebec, the language is French and the visitors are mostly French. It is strange seeing no signs in English and few people who speak English.
The ferry ride is smooth and we arrive early with bright sunshine and head south to Ile du Harve Aubert to stay at a campground on the Gulf of St.. Lawrence, at Camping Plage du Golfe, a wonderful location on the beach with full hook-ups and clean bathrooms! After we register we drive a bit further to see yet another lighthouse, and each house painted a different bright color with laundry hanging outside.

Maureen Kelly and Bob Tait make up the crew of the Bothan Taistil. Bothan Taistil is Irish Gaelic meaning "cottage for travel" and this is the name of our Winnebago VIEW RV.

Yes, someone does speak English there. A whole community at the eastern end of the Islands, called Grosse Ile. Anglophones have lived there for 200 years. You just have to know where to look.....
