The house that inspired Anne of Green Gables
Welcome to the potato capitol of Canada! It was really weird seeing all the red soil and sand. Driving across confederation bridge to get into PEI was an experience on itself...but not looking forward to paying about $50.00 to go back on it and get to New Brunswick. The first day we visited the local Community Living then toured around looking at all the natural beauty of PEI. The second day it was spent at Anne of Green Gables. We toured the house that inspired the novel and walked the Lover's Lane trail and the Haunted Woods trail. It was one of Tabi's dreams to come here and it came true. Interesting fact there are no bears, deer or moose on the Island. An interesting guy from Parks Canada told us a bunch of interesting facts about the island. PEI famous for their potatoes (they provide about 3/4 of the developed worlds supply of potatoes) and the proud birthplace of confederation (Which they have printed on their licence plates). Tonight we are going downtown to the fishbones bar for their end of season party before they close up for the winter. The event is called "drink the bar dry" with cheap drinks. Talking to one of the university graduates according to them PEI University has the lowest tuitions in the country. Enjoy the pictures.
