Hiff's Around the Tree
Missing: Ashley (in Sask. with Justin), Adam (still shopping), Jeremy (at work)...and those taking the pics Well, another Christmas come and gone way too fast! I was home for three weeks beginning on the 11th of December until New Years Eve (the 31st).
It was wonderful to spend time with my children (although Ashley left on the 13th to head to Saskatchewan to spend Christmas with her beau Justin and his family. So we saw each other for a day before she left and then again when she returned on the 30th). It was also great to be able to attend Coopers school Christmas concert (so cute, even though he was planted in the back and he had to perform the "Peppermint Twist" alone, minus a female partner). I was also fortunate to be able to spend a few days with my Mom (who will be 85 in 2013) at my new cottage making Christmas cookies and gifts, and chatting into the wee hours of the morning. Additionally, I had some "mother/son" time with Adam at my cottage also, watching Christmas movies and making MORE cookies.
Making cookies seemed to be the theme of the quality time I spent with family this year (along with the odd Bailey's and rye with Coke..well, perhaps a bit
more than 'the odd'....lol). The Pinterest cookie recipe I acquired was so delicious, I ended up making it three times! Tara and I also made cookies at her new home. It was fun into the morning with Chip (her beau) close by as our "taste tester". Tara also hosted a delicious Christmas dinner that was well worth the wait. After dinner playing Ninetnedo Wii "Just Dance 4", with Bill and Patti and watching the kids and others, was a blast!! I got 4 stars!!! Nice to know I've still got it....lol.
WOW...I could go on and on here, and I haven't even touched on the time spent with friends, who were equally as wonderful to see and spend time with. In order of appearance: thank you to my new realtor/became special friend Alvin, who was kind enough to pick me up at the airport and for the being the first smiling familiar face I saw in Canada; thank you to Krystyn for her amazing ability to live by the philosophy of "my su casa a su casa" and for her generosity and always making me feel at home; Yael, this means you equally; for all of my Waterloo BFF's
Adam and Jon
Family piano concert/Sing-a-long who came out to Montana's for a fun night of laughs (along with a wee bit of 'men talk' - afterall, what is a girls night out without THAT element); thanks to my Burlington BFF's for joining me at Milestones for dinner, and to Cathy for taking care of my car for me this fall. Always a pleasure to see you all and catch up! And a special thank you to my new Fenelon Falls BFF Cathy, for treating me to lunch in Bobcaygeon and for great 'girl talk'. I look forward to becoming great friends, when I am settled back home
Well, I don't think I forgot anyone. It was nice to touch base by phone while at home with Gloria (my teachers college mother/friend), and Mike and Sandra, (my Godfather/cousins). I will see you in Fenelon Falls this coming summer for sure!
This will be my second last BLOG for this adventure. I plan on completing the final 6 months of my teaching contract here in the UAE, then I will be returning back home to Canada for good in July. I cannot wait....it is time to move on.
I am currently in the process
Hiff Boy's...Adam and Jeremy
Missing Ryan and Josh and Jason...already left...too many men!! lol of planning one final excursion before I leave this part of the globe, during the spring break, which will take place the first two weeks of April this year. Still firming up some plans but it will be to one of the following three destinations: Kenya (for an African Safari), Thailand (for some beach fun), or Paris, France (missed it last spring during my European Tour).
I will keep you posted. Until then, please enjoy some of the photos (although I was lazy with the camera this holiday...sorry) of my Christmas...lots of snow at my 'cottage"...so pretty!!!
Luvs and God Bless! xo
