And this is the end of our story -- hope you've enjoyed it. As you can imagine, I've had a great time & could easily see myself doing this again next summer, maybe for a month, not 2 1/2 months -- I just need a driver, bike mechanic & dog-sitter....oh well, we'll see.

Also, if anyone is interested, I calculated the distances cycled & walked. On the bicycle I covered 2456.2 kilometres; on foot it was 188.5 kilometres. If I equate 10 k on foot with 60 k on the bike, that comes out to 1131 kilometres. When one adds the two sets of distances, the total is 3587.2 kilometres -- pretty close to 3600 (yeah, I know, I could have worked harder some of those days...)
