Hello All! Happy New Year! It has been 3 weeks since our last entry. Wow time flies when you're having fun! Our celebration in Montreal did not go well. City was not prepared. Snow not removed. Road not closed. And no protester control. The show did not go on. The torch did arrive however. They never seem to stop that. Next day we travelled to Gatineau. Beautiful sunny drive. Good Celebration. Dec. 12 Ottawa. Christmas shopping and then off for my torch run. I was very nervous. What an incredible experience! Missed having family with me, but my away family was there and they are great! Went to the evening celebration at Parliment Hill. Very beautiful! Back to Hotel and shared some champagne with my honey! Yes I mean Hank! Dec. 13 Pembroke. Nice to get back to smaller communities. Very friendly. Beautiful drive to Kingston the next day. Nice site with skating rink in front of stage. Dec.15 off to Peterborough. Went to see Brian at Cathcart Trucking. He bought Hank's truck and trailer 2 years ago. He helped us out with a truck wash and drove us to our hotel. The owner of this Best Western was a sweetheart.
Reminded me of my mommy. She liked it when I called her Mom! Invited us back in the summmer. Beautiful spot on the river. Joanne came to visit us at the Celebration. Poor Reed was very sick. R1N1 we believe! Later that evening Jeff announced Hank's spot as a Torch Bearer. Off to Oshawa the next day. Had a nice lunch with Denise. Art was working. She came out again that evening for the celebration. Found out that our friend Rod is also running the torch on Friday. Off to Toronto. 2 nites at the Delta. Toronto Celebration at Nathan Philips Square. Very beautiful with all the lights. Large crowds of course. Next day I almost didn't make it to Hanks Torch Run. They mixed up his time with Rod's. Made it however and so did Carol, Randy, Steve, Linda, Catherine, Brian, Andrew, Kim, Evan, Eric and Michelle. Very memorible moment for us! After the run I had to whisk Hank off to Brampton. Back to work! Great Celebration. Carol and Randy joined us and we went for dinner after and they shared our hotel with us. We had a great day! Sad good-byes the next day. Off the Hamilton.
We have a new team mate with us for a while. John, very nice guy. Great to work with. Dec. 20 Niagara Falls. Wow our room overlooking the falls. Everything is covered in ice. Very magical!
