Rock Glen Conservation
a little waterfall but lack of rain in the area has taken the little creek down to a trickle of what it usually is The last week has been very relaxing as far as the driving goes. We are still at the Rock Glen Campground in Arkona and the weather continues to be very hot and humid. We have a few ammenities here, outdoor shuffle board,pool,mini golf and a large conservation park right across the road. We spent a day walking amongst the woods and stream(which is nearly dried up). I did not mention the trees before, well they are fantastic. Large Oak, maple, elm, Hickory, a regular cornicoppia of decidous trees that we do not see out west. We spent an afternoon travelling to a little town called Strathroy, this is a large farming area, the farms are not as large as what we are used to seeing but there are lots of them. Another day we travelled to Point Edward to see the Blue Water Bridges. This is an international crossing between Ontario and Michigan and is apptley named because the water of lake Huron and the St. Clair River are very blue. Just Trees
this park has all the trees oak, maple, elm, hickory and more was a tribute to Johnny Cash (no I am not a big fan ) and June Carter but never the less it was very entertaining. Todays agenda is a rematch game of shuffle board with Chuck, a glass of wine (later) and hopefully a rain shower that is forecast for this afternoon, evening.
