Niagara
The falls at night they had just turned on the lights Well a little back dating is in order here. First we spent a great weekend visiting Eldon and Ann and it was really nice to be able to spend some time with them, even got to see my cousin Sandy whom I have not seen in about 25 years. Then Monday morning we left the London region for Niagara Falls, the falls are everything I expected, an amazing amount of water comes from Lake Erie down the Niagara River over the falls and into Lake Ontario. At night Niagara Falls (the city) is lit up like a mini Los Vegas. Monday night we spent at the campground there so had a nice evening stroll along the falls. Tuesday morning we left for St. Catharine wine country and stopped at a couple of places for sampling and bought a couple of bottles of the lower priced wines not the ones in the 40 to 80 dollar range. We also visited a creamery where they made their own cheese, very delicious and we splurged on some goat cheese and a maple smoked soft goat cheese, so yummy. Then a drive through Hamilton which I am convinced is the worst city in Canada(at least
Prescott
Bridge between Prescott Canada and upper New York the part we were in) should have been easy taking a major secondary through, NOT, no road signs, roads if you can call them that, were terrible Hamilton should be embarrased. Enough venting, we made it through to Guelph where we spent the night courtesy of Walmart again. Wed. morning up early and on to Prescott which is about 3/4 of an hour south of Ottawa and right on the St. Lawernce river. Pretty spot so we are here until Fri. then into Ottawa for some tourist touring. The weather continues to be very hot, but the temp drops at night so it becomes comfortable around 10pm. Every camp ground we have been in we meet some very nice people and a lot of people come over to talk just because they see the Alberta plates. Our last day in Arkona another couple drove in from Leduc on their way to Kingston and came over. All in all the travelling experience so far has been very good. Have I mentioned the road kill? Haha, well in Ontario it is racoons, Chuck says they must be very prolific because their are so many that don't make the highway crossings.
