July 16th and 17th

It's Jacob's birthday. We woke up at Samuel Champlain Provincial Park. It's on a small lake and river. The sites are large and the sunset gorgeous. It's very hot 35 CelsiuS, with thunder storm warnings. It took all day to travel here yesterday. Through a lot of heat, stopping at one shady rest spot for lunch, then I got lost in North Bay and finally got us turned around and back onto the road after checking out a rednecked "Jake's word" camp ground. We drove on to the park and were well pleased we had kept going. Today, we had camp biscuits for the birthday breakfast, went for a paddle and then a swim. We're staying till tomorrow. Now, we are keeping cool at Timmy's to use the wifi.

Happy Birthday Jacob

Looks like Jacob is very comfortable in his new kayak. As a westerner, its good to have such wonderful images of the "east". Keep on paddling and enjoying the beauty of our land. with very much and big love Janet
