ghost towns
Make sure you visit a ghost town or two around Williams Lake. One of them still has the original church and at least one was still occupied into the 1930s, I think. Drive carefully around Bella Coola; the roads may have improved since we were there several years ago but at that time losing an oil pan was a distinct possibility. And wear lots of sunscreen...worst sunburn of my life resulted from napping on the shores of one of those beautiful lakes. There is nothing quite like the taste of a Kokanee Salmon freshly caught and fried in butter for breakfast. MMMM... Have a blast. The area around Bella Coola and Williams Lake has a different kind of majesty than other parts of BC. It is beautiful. Sipping champagne and eating fresh salmon next to a cold river or lake .... wonderful. Drive carefully. I look forward to hearing about your travels in some of the loveliest parts of BC. Love to you both, Margo - Margo
