Mt Revelstoke
Hiking to the summit of Mt Revelstoke, 6360ft high Up bright and early for a big day today, our first stop was Mt. Revelstoke. We drove most of the way up the mountain and did a small hike to reach the summit which offered us incredible views of the Canadian landscape, absolutely stunning. We met with the other trek group and got some group photos at the top then continued on with our hike. We had some amazing views of the landscape and could see many towns and rivers, after all we were over 6000ft high. We headed back down to the van and continued on driving. We had a lunch stop at a place called Roger’s Pass which didn’t have much more than a visitors centre, a small hotel, a diner (which had amazing wedges!) and a gift shop. We took a while browsing through the gift shop and I eventually bought a Canadian hockey style top which I thought was pretty cool. We jumped back in the van and continued on driving.
Jon was interested in going to a wolf centre along the way, he had never been but had heard it was quite good. We arrived there to find all types of wolves and dogs roaming

Views from the summit around, some free and some in cages. They were all pretty friendly. We went to have a look at the wolf enclosures and had a bit of a tour by the girl there, telling us all about the wolves. She also did a howling demonstration where she made us all howl like fools and eventually the wolves joined in. Just as we were ready to go it was feeding time so we decided to stay and watch chickens being thrown into the enclosure as the wolves devoured them in seconds, it was very cool. Finally after watching Jon flirt with the wolf lady we were on our way to the campsite. Jon was very good at keeping surprises for us and as far as our group knew we were going to be camping at a regular campsite. To our amazement we arrived at a campsite with wagons everywhere and we actually got to stay in a small wagon for the night. Most of us thought it was really cool but some of the girls still insisted putting up a tent. We threw our gear into the wagons (I shared with Dave) and kicked the footy (soccer and AFL balls) around

Group photo with the amazing views in the background for a while before starting a campfire. Some of the other group went to do some hand gliding and didn’t turn up until really late so our group ended up cooking a BBQ dinner for everyone. We had a massive night of drinking and more drinking. Playing all sorts of drinking games then drinking some more. Most of the night is a complete blur, we were up for most of the night then stumbled back to our wagons to sleep.
