Hi Everyone,
So another winter has come and gone in a blink of an eye! Whistler delievered on snow once again and all those pow day were just amazing. Not to mention all the kids I taught that I learnt something from all of them and charmed me when they were not naughty.
At the end of each winter the Ski School hands out Instructor of the year awards. I was lucky enough to get the Kids Adventure Camp Instructor of the year award which I was very shocked about but very humble as well. As for my exams: well I didn't pass them unfortunitly. I had an off day mentally! So next winter I will give it another go.
I finished Ski School on April 20th and have only skied once since then, seeing my body just needs a rest. I have been picking up some shifts at the bakery which has been good. My last day at the bakery was Monday just gone and since then I have just been packing, cleaning and stairing in amazment at how much stuff I've collected over the past 2 years.
Tomorrow I leave the bubble for
6 months. So coming in contact with so many famous sports people on pretty much a daily basis and leaving such beautiful mountains is going to be put on hold. I'm fly on monday (Canada's monday) and I'm going to Romania for 2 weeks to go visit my "sister from another mother" and her husband who I have worked a few winters with in Whistler. Alex and Tudor were nice enough to invite me to there city and show me around which I'm really excited about!
For other exciting news; once leaving Romania I'm coming home to work at Mt Hotham resort in Victoria. I start at Hotham in the Kids department on June 20th so it's going to be a pretty quick turn around between arriving back on the Central Coast and leaving for Hotham. Plus while home I'm heading up to Brisbane for almost a week to get some "warmish temps". Just before getting home I will post on Facebook 'an event' so we can all catch up for a meal and or drink which I'm realy looking forward too.
On monday I went with a few friends to the River of Golden Dreams which is
5 minutes out of Whistler We went Kayaking for a few hours which was alot of fun and Thats what the photos are from below.
I leave Whistler tomorrow and head down the road 40 mins to Squamish for a few days before Flying out on Monday night. And of course I'm not packed and ready to go yet. I comepletely underestimated the cleaning and organising to throw out process. However by tomorrow there is no doubt I will be ready seeing all I need to do is pack and a few smaller things like checking out of my appartment.
Look forward to seeing you all realy soon and sharing some amazing stories.
Mark
