Sorry for yet another delayed Blog entry! Last weekend (4th April) I (Iain) went off with 3 other guys I've met out here for a day at Powder Mountain Cat Skiing. Basically this involved a group of 12 of us heading off into the amazing back country down the road from Whistler and getting ferried about the mountains in a snow cat whilst snowboarding fresh untracked powder. This is was a real treat for all of us, riding deep powder is the reason why we are all here, its a sensation that is very hard to describe but is probably as close to flying / floating that you can get.
Needless to say we all had an amazing time - 8 runs and about 16,000 vertical feet of riding and thankfully no hiking due to the snowcat.
As they say a picture tells a thousand words and so here are some pics of us taken by a professional photographer who came along to help us spend a bit more of our ever dwindling cash.
I am sad to report that other 3 guys I went with are all better snowboarders than me and so their pics are suitably
superior, that said I had just as much fun as them and we finished the day off with a few well deserved beers in Dustys.
