Harnessed up and ready to goHarnessed up and ready to goHarnessed up and ready to go

Here we are posing in our harness's about to jump off this platform .... you can see one of the wires in the background.
Its our 'mid-stay' day here at Whistler and after 3 days skiing and nursing numerous aches and pains, we took a day off to go Ziplining. Eh! Ziplining I hear you say!. Well just to explain, Ziplining is an eco-tour where you are strapped into a harness and hooked onto steel wires strung across the canopy of a rainforest. The wires are up to 400 meters long and we reached speeds of up to 80km/hr. The tour was operated by a group that promotes environmental sustainability and they were able to use the local habitat to get the message across. We also learned that Whistler is named after a little rare furry creature named the Hoary Marmot which communicate by whistling to each other. We also learned that there are currently around 60 brown bears hibernating around the whistler-blackcomb ski fields but they wont be stirring until April.
We also came across a tiny hummingbird's nest where eggs are glued (bird saliva) to the nest (see photo).
So after our nice relaxing day, its back to skiing for the next 3 days.

Hi Tish and Andrew, this is my first email on the 'comment' as I don't know if you got my other two which I sent on 'private message' I dropped in to see the cats again today on my way from Dave Potters and there was none of them around again but the food had been eaten, I got the shock of my life when I went in as your CDs and clothes were scatered by the door of your bedroom and I thought that someone had broken into the house, but it must have been one of the cats as the bottom shelf of your wardrope was empty but everything else was fine. After my watering yesterday we are having rain today but not heavy showers like we need, however it's keeping the soil damp and that's what you need. Thank you for keeping us up to date with you exciting adventures. God Bless, Love, Mum. xxxx
