Today we were leaving the country and heading into Canada for a week. Our first stop was Vancouver. On the border we were all granted access into Canada and we stocked up on duty free alcohol spending well over $200, hopefully it would last us a while. We arrived in Vancouver around 3PM and first we went to see some Totem Poles. Took some photos and from here we had a good view of the city skyline of Vancouver. We then headed for our hostel which was quite busy, it was a popular place, we got a free beer as well! Tonight I shared a dorm room with Dave and Ben. We hung around the hostel for a while and did some much needed washing while we watched Lucy dye her hair. I headed down to the hostel lobby to meet the rest of the group but on the way bumped into Karl, a guy that I used to work with a few years ago, I couldn’t believe it. We chatted for a bit before I had to leave to meet everyone. We headed out for some Thai food tonight and on the way passed a clock powered by steam which

was quite famous here in Vancouver.

Dinner was quite good, we all enjoyed it. When we left the restaurant it was raining outside, we walked around the streets of Vancouver for a while until we found a pub to go drinking in. We weren’t sure if Lucy could get into pubs in Canada so she pretended to be Jon’s girlfriend if anything happened. But we all got in with no problems and found a small section in the back where we played some darts. We were drinking and playing darts for quite a while but then people were getting tired and eventually we left and returned at the hostel. Dave, Ben and I finished our washing, it was taking ages to dry our clothes, the dryers were totally useless. It wasn’t till early morning we went to sleep, some of our clothes still wet, we couldn’t be bothered with it anymore.
