Blogs from Delta, British Columbia, Canada, North America
Lucie-Maude... read more

As promised, I am now blogging about previous adventures. My departure from Ontario was abrupt in some ways, but in other ways not really. You see I was waiting on a note from my doctor and proof of medical insurance before I could book anything. So I was ready to go, but wasn't allowed to yet. The last e-mail that I needed came in on March 26th and that very day I booked my plane ticket to leave on the 28th. I arrived on Saturday night in Vancouver. I stayed at my good friend, Janet's house. She had a new two month old daughter, whom I got to meet for the first time. She looks just like her mom. On Sunday I went to my old home church (from when I was in Bible College). The ... read more
Week Seventeen: California, California!
Published: June 15th 2008North America » Canada » British Columbia » DeltaTo summon up an image of California in one’s mind is to bring forth a montage of sun-dappled bike paths criss-crossed with bikers, runners and power-walkers with Bonsai dogs in their purses. Twinned with the possibility of bumping into a celebrity and finding meaning and purpose of life. A relentless collage of health and unattainable happiness. The day in which we landed was far from such. LAX was dreary and the sun was fighting through the thick slab of cloud to no avail. I am rushing ahead though. There’s still Fiji. Our flight from Auckland to LA when booked was a direct flight. Over the months it metamorphosed into a flight which stopped in Fiji then continued onto LA. We had no idea of such an undertaking until we boarded the flight. Good ole Air ... read more
Tour de Mont Blanc - Variety of Photos
Published: September 27th 2007North America » Canada » British Columbia » DeltaHi from Kelley in Canada! Yes, I admit I am in complete denial that my trip is over. However the jet lag reminds me it is. Boo Hoo!! I am not capable of doing much more than laundry so spent the day looking over the photos and smiling. Have heard from Alicia and Ross and all is well .....I miss her already! After talking to my sister this morning, I have decided to add more photos (not just mountains) to the blog instead of just sending her a bunch of attachments. It seems if I were on facebook I could just add an album of pictures, but as I am not, here goes. Compiled a few stats, as I really can not believe where our feet where able to take us. We completed 11 stages of ... read more
Hello all!!! well the day is FINALLY upon us and it has been going so slowly. Our flights leave at 6:55pm and when you wake up, due to excitement, at 6:00am, it makes for a long day of waiting. Our bags are packed, we have done some last minute running around and now we wait....and wait.....and still wait. The anticipation is what makes it so exciting when we finally start our journey but it is also quite painful. We did our last weigh in and after cutting down all the things I wanted to bring on the trip to the things I only need for the trip my pack (with water) will weigh about 38 pounds and my Mom 35 pounds. Doesn't seem like that much until you add what we currently weigh and well...it makes ... read more

Published: August 26th 2007North America » Canada » British Columbia » DeltaHello all! From the sunset beach at Montague Harbour in August to the Alps in September....ready set....two days to go. We leave Tuesday for Amsterdam, then Geneva and finally Chamonix which is near the starting point of our 170 km hike. We will circumnavigate Mt Blanc through Italy, Switzerland and France. We'll stay in villages and alpine huts! It is hard to believe the trip we've dreamed about and planned for a year is finally here. We hope to add photos and comments from various locations from the Tour de Mont Blanc and then Paris....and look forward to hearing from you back home too! .....we'll be in touch from the other side of the world! luv, Alicia & Kelley ... read more

My trip starts here in Ladner, BC. I'm going travelling for approximately 6 months to South East Asia starting early January. My friend Ashley and I are doing Thailand together for 5.5 weeks. We're going to start in BKK then basically keep south to the Islands. We're gonna take the long ride down to Chumphon, then Koh Tao. We'll also get to Koh Chang, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Phuket, Phi Phi, Koh Lanta and probably many others along the way. We've got to make it back to Koh Phangan for the full moon on Feb 3rd then we've got a week to decide if we want to stay in the islands, or go back to BKK for some shopping before Ash leaves me all by my lonesome and Dedria joins me for another 5-6 weeks and ... read more
. After many wonderful days, we were woken this morning by the sound of rain on the roof of the cabin - not good when it is 120 yards to the bathroom! Thankfully, by the time we had packed the truck and were ready to go the sun was actually shining… Of course, this was nearly noon as we spent some time in the club-house (the only source of internet) catching up on the blog updates, answering e-mail, booking tickets and checking the weather!! Our plan for the day - head towards Canada via the nearest Wal-Mart. Statistics Starting Destination: Concrete, Washington Ending Destination: Delta, British Columbia Ending Destination GPS: N: 49° 06.571’ W: 123° 03.331’ Elev: 10’ Miles Driven: 115.6 Most Interesting Sign: All Fish Bait Wireless (left) ... read more
