Hello again,

I have not been good at blogging this week I have been busy with work, climbing, running and socialising!

Today was an interesting day so I will blog on what I saw for a start

I saw a proper big avalance for the first time on the hike I went on today!

I went hiking again today with one of the outdoor clubs I joined in Calgary. I went up another peak with them with an elevation gain of 1000m over 2.3km which wasnt bad. When we were stopped at the bottom of the peak after finishing the hike looking at the mountains across the valley we heard a large crack and then we saw it a load of snow literally falling down one of the peaks. I was mesmorised so much so I kept looking at the spot it happened and one of the other members in the group joked " Aislinn it is not going to happen again in the same spot". All day we had been hearing avalanches in the mountains. I could hear rumbling and I thought it was thunder but the leader of the group informed me that they were the sounds of avalances happening in the other mountains which was kind of scary. A different experience to hiking in ireland to say the least. The hiking group was great really friendly and kind. I am meeting great people out here. I mentioned to one of the members that I was looking to buy a second hand bike and she said it to one fo the other members she knew and he is now giving me his old bike for free. I offered him money but he wouldnt take it. People are very decent here. So far so good Canada 😊
