The spectacular Lake Louise Up early and all in the van ready to head out. Except Lucy who only just got back from a massive night out and had had no sleep. We were entertained by her stories of last night all the way to our first stop, Lake Louise. Now this place was something, a beautiful blue lake sitting in front of a valley of snow covered mountains, just a stunning sight. This was one of the places I had gone on this tour for, I couldn’t believe I was here. We started with a hike to a small tea house which overlooked Lake Louise. Jon told us it was a difficult hike which may take a few hours. We did it in less than one, pushing ourselves but eventually making it, stopping on the way for photos. We had some tea and scones in the tea house which took a while then headed back down. We were confused which way to get back down considering we had a dodgy map and Jon’s directions. We took the horse route down and ended up behind the hotel then made our way back to Lake Louise.
We had plenty of time to continue having a

View of Lake Louise from a small bridge look around so Tina, Dave and I hired a kayak for an hour and set off on Lake Louise. It was an awesome experience, kayaking around Lake Louise, we got some fantastic photos of the hotel which overlooks the lake. On the way back to return the boat we passed Sara and Elaine doing the same thing then as we got off we bumped into Min, Lucy and Marcia who after some convincing by us also did the kayaking. Ben refused to do it. Afterwards, Tina, Dave, Ben and I had a wonder around the hotel lobby and also checked out the shops and cafes. Ben bought a couple of jumpers for the cold weather but that’s about it. After leaving the spectacular Lake Louise we headed back to Banff and went to the hot spring baths. It was a massive man made pool which was filled with the hot spring water at a temperature of around 40C, it was hot. The whole group went in, except Ben who even after all of us trying to persuade him, still didn’t go in.
We had a deal, if all of us wore the old fashioned swim gear, Jon would also

Lake Louise and kayaks for hire wear it and since everyone but Ben did it and wore the traditional style bathing suit so did Jon. We got changed and as we were walking into the pool, everyone was watching us, we were the only people in the traditional swim suit, they thought it was hilarious. We stayed in the pool, swimming around until we couldn’t take the heat anymore and left. Afterwards we headed out for dinner at a pub that Jon recommended which was known for their elk burgers. I decided against the strange elk burger but did try Dave’s, a weird taste but not too bad. After dinner we headed for the pub across the road and shortly after the other trek group joined us for lots of drinking and pool. Had an awesome night. When we headed home and I was so drunk, I remember Dave and I putting everyone into taxis then all of a sudden I was by myself and couldn’t find anyone. Dave and I got some Subway had a chat to some locals then eventually found a cab to take us to the campground. I remember getting there, walking in the darkness then Dave falling into a ditch. I
