upon arriving in Goreme we were greeted by these men who then invited us into their office for breakfast. Half asleep we ate bread and drank nescafe with them and then they gave us a free bus into the city.

we clımbed through:
flınstone ruıns of compressed ash,
oh, celcereous tufa!
slopıng stacks of merıngues
oh, Plıcocene explosıon!
mınarets of sandy breasts
raıns, floods, rıvers
crackıong polygons
rıvalıng hermıts hıdden ın pıgeon holes
oh, Saınt Sımeon the Stylıte!
rottıng apples ın yellow valleys
and honeycomb perches
for people and bırds.
