Free day from tour today but still up early for breakfast must say best breakfast of the week so far, met up with new tour guide Mohammad as previous one Zaher had to leave tour due to family bereavement ?
Went to Petra museum, quite interesting as only opened in 2018 just before ?
Walked into Petra town, quite hard work as very steep uphill walk, called for coffee at little cafe where the owner Rateb was lovely & so friendly and welcoming.
Called into a different hotel for drink ? that had an outdoor pool, asked about using pool but 10 dinar each (£13) so was a no no. Had a wonder around and then called into a very large posh hotel, Moven Pick, had another drink and asked staff if we could sit on terrace answer was yes, terrace had beautiful pool, was dying to get in it but unfortunately had no swim wear with me plus all signs said hotel guests only…… Well who would know??? So left hotel went back to my room, got swim wear and walked back into posh hotel as if we were guests, got a drink and took it to pool area, had lovely day, swimming, chatting to lovely people and just lounging around and didn’t cost a penny ? went back to hotel and met up with tour group to decide where to go for food, after such a lovely experience this morning at Rateb’ s place, ‘Time Out’ we decided to go there, after Mohammad made a call to let them know we were coming back they sent transport for us (phew saved climbing that high road again) what a brilliant night, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing, everyone ended up on their feet dancing, thank goodness there was no alcohol or we might not have got back to our hotel.
