Three of us (two from US, one from Canada) are looking to go to Tibet for a week/ten days from Kathmandu. All of the travel offices we've spoken to book really expensive set package tours. We're looking for a cheaper way to get in to Lhasa, and then we'd like to book a trek around Kailas Inner Kora. Is that possible? Does anyone know how that can be arranged?
Reply to this Unfortunately, right now it is impossible for you to travel through Nepal to Tibet. Both the group visas and Tibet permits will not be issued to you. And no one knows when it will be ok. The only way for you come to Tibet is through mainland China now.
For Mt. Kailash inner kora, it is opened to do it now. But must under the operation of the local agent. And a tour guide is necessary.
