Don't want to fly to a border crossing!!!

Hi I am planning on travelling through Myanmar. To enter from China at the Ruili - Muse border. Then to exit into Thailand. Research shows I may be able to take a boat down the coast all the way to Kawthaung? Is this my best hope? Or is there any other border I can cross from Myanmar into Thailand without flying to. I really want my trip to consist of no flying and this part in planning is causing a lot of difficulty. Any help grateful. Thanks lee.
