Happy Birthday to Mom!!! Yea, we called and left a VM on her work number, my flat mates and I! I also bought her something cool. I am not going to say what it is because she checks it, but I just want her to know that I did get her something on her Birthday for Her birthday, even though she won't get it until May!!!
But Yea, today I had my History Class. Which I hate. I actually dread going to this class because it is very boring and all things that I have learned before. Again thank you Mr. Timm for that! But the other people in the class, they really don't care too much for history. Tards! And we talk a lot about British Culture and we spend little time on things and his notes are vague and...blah blah blah. Ok, so I am done venting. I am just waiting for next week, because that is when we will get into WWII and its affect on England and Europe and Post WWII, which I am not too well schooled in.
I got a letter today from President Hynes' friends here in London. But, I seem I cannot
get a hold of them by phone. So, hopefully, we will connect soon!
But after class I went out with Jacqueline and explored the area, looking for random places. We went to Farrington, which there wasn't much too. From what I gathered, it is mainly a middle class residential area and most of the people who live there work in the City of London. Because in Farrington, there wasn't much going on in the middle of the day during the week. But, we found a Catholic Church and two unique community gardens! They were quite small, but intimate and enjoyable and I am sure accessed by many after they leave work/school. Then, we went to Harvey Nichols! This is a very expensive shopping store. Actually this was Princess Diana's Favorite place to shop! And I can see why!!! It was a shopper's paradise. All the clothes were made with real fabrics, none of those cheap nylons and things that American would buy! And just touching some of the items I could see why some of them were as expensive as they were. The jewelry section was to die for! I had to leave before I saw the entire collection!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. We also went a looked at the formal dresses, which were all REAL designers brands, Like Gucci, Donna Karin New York, Versace, etc. and I found at Gucci dress in my size!!! I caressed it! The silks were SO soft; I have never felt a dress that felt so elegant! That was my highlight for the day, fondling a Gucci Dress!!! I was bout to try it on, but then I realized if it fit I would have to buy it and I could not justify to myself purchasing a 797 pound dress (and that was on clearance, because it was a winter dress!) That is about 1600 American dollars! I made a pro/con list of trying it on, but in the end decided just touching the dress was good enough.
We then went back and STA and tried to figure out what to do for break. And we still have no idea what to do...I may just end up traveling alone...we'll see!
