Matsuri
I was very influenced by a book my teacher gave me based on festivals in Japan. Many costumes were so beautiful and elaborate, I had fun drawing them- my meduim was watercolor pencils at the time.
In the background is a fox bride, in the front I believe is called a courtesan. The last few days I've been keeping busy travelling to and from Wales to collect things I left during the move just over a year ago. But luckily my Japanese hasn't suffered completely as I got a brand new phone which allows me to download apps!
The first thing I downloaded was a language app which tests me on the Japanese alphabet including Kanji and to my surprise, I remembered what I'd learned years ago immediately. It's encouraging knowing it goes in easier than people generally think, it's not impossible. For the next few weeks during the holiday, I'm going to be a lot more active, I've had a month to relax and talk to my boyfriend everyday; now I need to concentrate and feel good about myself. We've been talking a lot more Japanese lately and he's quite impressed with how my sentence structure is and my conversational skills are.
His English is much better than he thinks, almost perfect that when he does make a mistake, I'm shocked!
Since I don't have a job anymore, I've put all my unwanted things into many, many different boxes and stored for the time being before being booted off.

I thought I was being artful with the angle and having it in black and white, the kimono is actually bright red with golden hair accessories. I have so many books which I'd read between the age of 14-18, maybe 120+ and an antique ring I'm willing to sell off too, so this is me being resourceful and resilient with my heartbreak. I don't care if I only earn £50 or even less, I feel better selling things to people who would find them useful than just throw them away, I find it immoral to throw a perfectly good book in the bin. I have sooo many old teenage novels I used to love, but now I'm not too bothered about them as these days I read biographies and Dan Brown books.
Next week or this week I'll restart my job hunt, maybe even take a free course at the learning center which gives us experience in retail to work in shops since my only experience is working in restaurants and cafes. But if that doesn't work, I'll do more volunteering, I'd done it in my school years in catering which gave me a qualification in Food Hygiene and I was very proud of that award, The British Heart Foundation outlets seem like a good recommendation and there's plenty of charity shops in my area

This is the only picture I've got of some books I used to read, there were many more for years to come, but I'm going to be sensible and sell the one's I do not want anymore to reduce clutter and to sell on to a new owner. so I have options for when all my belongings are gone.- It was tough going through all my childhood memories, and even more heartbreaking for my mum so I'm glad I'm doing it for her.
I believe exercise is the best way to start revising, I feel my concentration increases as I feel I'm doing good for my body. When I was a teenager- well, younger than 18, I was all into improving my muscles and burning enough calories a day, sometimes up to 200 a night on EA Sports Active 2- for the PlayStation 3. But my mum insisted I stopped as I looked ill and I think that's the worst thing I have done, so I'm going to pick up the weights again, that's what me and my boyfriend have in common, we like to take care of ourselves.
My boyfriend and I are very anxious about choosing the right university and staying close together until then, when the term starts we'll see each other less but we trust each other when neither of us are around. I know I want to go to uni now, but I'm not sure what course- he even said he'd
2011- charity event
Years ago at school I was in charge of organising a boot sale at the school- this was some of my things, so you can imagine how much I've got to get rid of now! come to Britain for a few weeks if I don't get into Japan so we could be together for a while. He's considering Kyushu University, but waiting to visit others too which are not in Osaka where he lives.
A lot of websites suggested for Gaijin to get a Bachelor or higher in order to get a job, over in Britain most jobs don't really depend on those unless of course you want to be a doctor, so now I'm really going to up my game and upgrade my little diploma into a degree or something.
Looking at the website and putting research into getting the right permits and paper work; the courses are actually really affordable, it really surprised me. If my dad was up to it I'd ask him, but of course pay him back when it's over and I've got a job; so after I've landed in Japan and got my place, all I'd need to worry about is getting accommodation and enough money to support myself.
I'm glad Japan is keen on giving international students an opportunity to take part in studying in their universities.
