Only signs written in both Welsh and English are evidence that I have crossed the invisible border separating Wales from England. Located due north of clun and just within Wales is Chirk Castle. Commanding fine views over the surrounding countryside it was built in 1300 as a fortress by Roger Mortimer, one of King Edward I's warlords. Five of tis medieval owners where executed for treason. Changing hands during the War of Roses it was by 1495 in the Tudor's hands. It was sold for £5000 to Sir Thomas Myddeton. It is still owned by his decendents. The exterior has been changed very little even though parts of it were demolished in the English Civil War. I am Welsh, and very proud of this fact! I was born and grew up in Wales (UK) and lots of my family still live there. When I turned 18 I left to go to University in Oxford and then moved to London for some more study and then work. However, I still go back often to see my parents and friends, and love the place. I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting the UK as Wales has a lovely mix of gorgeous countryside, interesting cities, great history, friendly people and the best rugby team ever...... read more

Day 1: I Visit Errolbunt The land was a far, far place from my home in the city. Actually it was the total opposite of a city, the good old country side. It inculded high, rocky mountains, rolling hills, grassy, green plains and deep bodies of green- grey water. It was acutally a pretty big chunk of land. There was this really old town that looked like one of those medieval villages that consisted of grazing horses, wooden fences and moldy hut-like houses. If you drive up a bit north of Ironkeg theres a huge cave of unimagineable size made of rock and covered with disgusting mold. I honestly think its home to some oversized troll.
