Punting on the Backs in Cambridge
This is where we cheated a little and had a student motor punt us along Wow it's been a little while since our last blog, trouble is getting enough pics to be down loaded to a disc then finding the time and place to do the blog. Yep you guessed it we are still absolutely flat out!!.
While at Bury St Edmunds we ventured to Cambridge for an educational experience 😊 We had a look around the famous colleges ie Kings, St Johns etc. Finished the afternoon punting along the river Cam (The Backs) with the aid of a Student Motor as we couldn't be stuffed doing it ourselves. All went well till I almost ended up in the drink while holding the punt for Emma and co to alight. Whilst in England we taught the poms their own game of pub cricket. if you are familiar with the rules then your input would be appreciated. if you are not, then we will explain the rules next time we see you. We do have someone researching the correct rules so until then our rules go. Two pub names to ponder on, "Alberts Foot" and 'Fanny By The Gaslight".
On the train where we planned to stop at York but got off in Edinburgh instead. WOW. Loved

You have I'm sure all seen a tattoo in your time on the telly, but it's hard to imagine they can do it all in such a small carpark. Amazing what they can do with cameras etc the place. We did a highland tour and saw some amazing landscapes and wild life. No, I am not talking about Steve!!!! The trip included the famous place of the Lockness Monster, but she wouldn't come out to play 😞
Spent a couple of days here but could of spent a couple of weeks probably. As we have a way to go yet we moved on. By the way, our Britrail Pass has been fantastic and the best form of travel so far. The trains here go absolutely everywhere. We railled our way to Glasgow and did a day tour which we would have to say was a little disappointing, but Edinburgh was I guess a hard act to follow. We continued on to Killmarnock where we stayed at Margret and Eddie McAdams B&B (Andrew McAdams parents place) We had a beautiful meal of Haggis, Neeps, Soup, cassarole, pudding and cheese - you can see we are really slumming it on this trip - NOT.
Another leap via the Steana Ferry from Stranrear to Belfast seen us of course in Northern Ireland. Stayed in Belfast for the night, hired a car in the morning (Scoda) and headed north (that's the

Nessie wasn't home so sorry no pic of her here. Emma was mistaken for her a couple of times, but usually when we were at a pub - late or is that early?? not sure now. way the wind was blowing at the time!) We did the tourist bit and visited The Giants Causeway and the Bushmills Distillary - can never try to much whiskey now can you 😊. We ended up crossing the border even though we hadn't realised it till we stopped to buy food and found the currency had changed from Pounds to Euro. Found a grouse B&B in a small hamlet called Ballyshannon on the west coast. The house was victorian and so was the furniture. Sorry but can't publish the photo of Steve in the bath as it may offend. went to the local and ended up at 2 in the morning having been invited to a private party and back for lunch the next day!! We reluctantly declined both offers but did feel like honourary locals.

Wow - you guys get about. It was just the other day when we took you to the train. Glad it's going well. Incidently - found a sock (guess it's the one you said must be in the wash somewhere) and found something else too - so if your one pair short, you know where they are!!! - Steven
