We drove to the southern part of Suffolk and visited Flatford the hamlet 0n the River Stour where Constable’s father owned the mill and was the location for some of his most famous paintings including the Hay Wain. It is now owned and managed by the National Trust and one of their guides showed us the location of several of the paintings.
Afterward we walked along the river to the village of Dedham and back.
We stayed on a Caravan Club certified location just outside Flatford.
