We caught the bus into Cambridge and spent the day exploring the attractive College building which are arranged along the River Cam. First a tourist office guide pointed out the things we need to look out for and then took us around Kings College Chapel (where the Christmas Eve Nine Lessons and Carols Service is held) and Trinity College including a walk around its library looking at various ancient documents.

After lunch we did what every visitor to Cambridge has to do, have a punt along the river. The areas behind the colleges are called the Backs and are not open to the public so this is the only way to see many of the sights.

A meal in a French restaurant finished a memorable day.
