Applied for a few campsite jobs and got some interviews – very exciting but involved a lot of travelling, the first was in St Austall (200 miles away), the next two in Snowdonia (250 miles). We fell in love with a site in Dolgellau – Graig Wen – and were ecstatic when Sarah phoned and offered us the job, can’t wait to start! We will even be able to travel to Crete for Emma’s wedding, picking Suzie up on the way, marvellous.

By now we were on a site near Pagham harbour nature reserve and all alone apart from the pigs, chickens, sheep and parrots – never heard a parrot imitate a cockerel before. Had to leave a bit earlier than planned as friends phoned and asked us to look after their campsite while they went away, good practice. Anyway that’s us sorted for the summer – but a few stops to make along the way.
