Home counties weekend!

Having not been back to the UK since June, August was to feature not one but two visits home. One for friends (including Keith and Karen who couldn't make the second one and who really count as both), the other for family. First up, friends 😊 To summarise:

~ Friday night pizza with Keith and Karen - we failed to get Pizza Express to answer the phone so ended up going to the restaurant instead and were duly entertained by the local chavs in their "finery", tottering off to a night on the tarn
~ Saturday morning Nat shows up on her gorgeous new GSXR-750 (in black, natch), I fire up the green Ninja and we head for the open road
~ lovely sunny outdoor lunch at The Bear in Oxshott, providing much amusement for the twin set brigade as we squeaked around in our leathers
~ afternoon tea and a tour of Suze and Avi's new place in Ewell village, viewing of Isha's dance video from last year and the now infamous comment from Suzie about Nat's recent announcement... "but Nat, I just thought you were going to tell us you were a lesbian"... cue hysterical laughter from all but Suzie's gran 😉
~ more biking through the home counties to Sevenoaks for great evening of Pimms and pasta with Steve, John and Nat where John and I witnessed first hand the young love that is StevenNat (the subject of the announcement, for those who are confused)
~ leisurely Sunday morning breakfast and some garage photo ops before providing the neighbours and arriving taxi driver with suburban scandal as Nat and I leapt on to the bikes and roared off, leaving the 2 boys standing waving goodbye
~ another great ride through the home counties - bike swap heaven as Nat let me at the Gixxer 😊 A good portion of the ride was spent admiring ourselves in any available shiny surface...
~ arrival at Emma and Fez's place for the barbecue of the summer, lots more Pimms, lots more admiring of motorbikes in garages, and lots more to laugh at - thanks for a great day you two!
~ a Monday morning ride with Nat and Fez and then back to West Molesey to "work from home" before going to the airport and back to Stockholm, i.e. go shopping with Keith, have a nice lunch at The Albany (used to be the Fox on the River when Keith, Ross and I lived there before), shower and pack!

All in all, a great weekend! Thanks to everyone who made it possible... my agent, my publisher... 😉
