After a great send off from my parent’s house we finally got on our way. I said come rain or shine we would start on Sunday 29th June - well we didn’t get much shine but we had plenty of rain. Stats so far: we have covered about 165 miles (still over 2000 miles to Istanbul - seems an awful long way to go). We have had 0 Punctures and 1 Crash (Joy had a little one - no harm done except to her pride). The first couple of days were very hard work as we cycled out of Wales, through Shropshire and then onto Stratford-upon-Avon. The hills just kept on coming at us. When we were not on a hill we faced a quite strong head wind and sometimes to top it off rain as well. We knew getting out of England would be hard and we can’t wait to hit the continent (hopefully it will be warmer at least). We should arrive in London on Saturday afternoon and are looking forward to staying with our friends Steve and Julie. Just in case people think we are hiding at home for a year I’ve started to post a few phots.
