Hello everyone! We arrived safe and sound in London about an hour ago and then made our way to Henley. The house we're staying in is beautiful--thank you again to Liz for helping to set us up with that. Not much to report about the flight but I do have some unflattering pictures of my parents on the plane for you to peruse. I'm still getting settled so I haven't taken any real pictures yet. Look forward to the next entry for the first authentic Henley update. ... read more
Dad and I in O'Hare.

There are only two days in the whole year that I miss being in the States. The first is Thanksgiving. The second is the Fourth of July. Well I survived my first Henley Regatta. Having never been near a rowing competition getting the chance to dress up in proper Henley attire, jump on a riverboat with 60 other antipodeans was an opportunity too good to refuse. The crew (who are a fantastic bunch of people) set out from Hammersmith to Henley from Paddington station (yep the one with the little brown bear). It was first beers early as we loaded onto the boat from the shoreline and spent the day cruising up and down the Thames adjacent to the rowing. The weather was great, at time sweltering, but mostly fine and the company was just awesome. Afterwards we headed to the Angel, that famous Henley pub on the river to continue festivities!... read more
