Today my
British Studies class visited
Trafalgar Square in
London.
(i lost a bunch of the pictures i took that day :'-(
...so some of these photos are actually replacement ones i took the next time i was in London) The picture above is actually from October 6th. The weather wasn't as nice that day, and the fountains weren't on.

Our class had been discussing the
Alison Lapper statue, so that's the main thing we went to see.
Trafalgar Square is a place that celebrates British heroes and has come to be a symbol of British national identity.
My professor wanted us to reflect on whether this statue is appropriate for Trafalgar Square. Is Alison Lapper a British hero? Does she represent British identity?
I personally don't think so. I really don't like that statue, and I found it disappointing that England can apparently be just as inhibited by political correctness as the U.S is. Women and handicapped people should not be proud of that statue; they should be offended.
I personally find it quite funny.
...pigeon on its head. haha.
...statue of George Washington.
That seemed a little out of place as well, haha.
Steps at the bottom of Nelson's column. It's alot bigger than it looks.
I had a picture of me standing up there on those steps, but i think i accidentally deleted it :-(
You can kinda judge the size from the people below it though.
