I went to the Victoria & Albert Museum on a field studies trip for one of my History classes: England Since 1851.

We almost didn't get to see the British Galleries section, which was the main part we had come to see. When we got there they said it was closed for renovations. But one of the security guards ended up opening it up for our class so we could still go through it.

Most of the displays were of artifacts from various different British colonies throughout the empire. We were supposed to be thinking about how they all contributed to British culture and national identity.

I went to the British Museum with my Art History class.

We looked at all the sculpture and architecture from Ancient Greece and Rome, which was what we were studying at the time.

I was surprised that everyone was taking so many pictures. I didn't think we would be allowed to do that.
