Final tea party with Edgar and Georgie and off to the airport. A bit of a misstep with the Sat Nav but we eventually made it to the car rental return lot. Way early for the flight but better early than late. Now that I have left the country I can actually tell you what I think of the Irish folks!! They like to present this facade that is all jolly, laughter, happy go lucky but really they are upt... Read Full Entry

Congratulations on your grandson-to-be. Lovely day here on the West Coast. Actually a bit too hot for this old sidewinder. Had an outdoor Canada Day brunch at Doug and Loretta's---a big crowd in honour of Trevor and Carissa's visit but I sat in the more comfortable atmosphere of the air-conditioned house. Sure enjoying keeping up with your travels. Just waiting for our "troops" to explode the front door off its hinges any minute!

Ha ha ha your just hilarious. And there\'s you married to one of them Irish control freaks for years and you didn\\\\\\\'t know it??

Knew I was going to get some flack from the Irish contingent. My Irishman is more Canadian than Irish so has much less control freakish behavior!!! I'm the problem in our house :) Thanks again for the wonderful dinner and evening.

we are really enjoying the details and the description. Keep it up. Glad that the weather seems to be smiling on you. Hope your Irish impressions are not judgements but observations (dad!!!!) Love, dad and mom

No judgment here Dad....absolutely observations. We are having a wonderful time. Off to Paris today

Freaks
Ah sure. No bother. But please be careful what you say about the French. If they find out you are married to an non-control freak Irish man we could lose our EU membership

Fun!
Love following you two around the countryside! Congratulations on the wee one!

Thanks Kandi! We are pretty excited. Looks like you had some not so nice excitement with Trevor. Reminded me of our accident in CA. Hugs to all of you and hope his friends that are still in hospital start to respond and get better.

From a disgruntled "control freak"
Hedges; who knows what control is lost behind our hedges, maybe we dance naked in the soft Irish rain, howl at the moon, who knows,,

Still on about control freaks
For 800 years the English controlled us, then for about 80 years it was the Catholic Church, latterly for a short period we had no control so we went mad,, we borrowed and spent like we were on drugs, we went to our banks for a loan to build a hen house, they said how much can we give you, here 10 million, we bought houses all over the world, Outer Mongolia, even Canada, if it was on a glossy brochure we bought it.. Now we're bust with hardly a pot to pee in,, but we're now under the control of the Germans, the IMF, the EU and abcd..z but maybe that's the way it should because it seems we can't even control ourselves, I wouldn't put us in control of a HEN HOUSE!!
