I could barely contain my excitement upon arriving at Heathrow airport - our trip had begun!
Rye and Jovan met us at the airport, and we arrived to a bright and sunny London (what is everyone complaining about?!).
Despite minimal sleep the night before, a 23 hour uneventful BA trip, and a 6am arrival, I was ready to hit the town! After dropping our stuff off at Rye´s (we were spoilt with a spacious/warm home in Woodgreen) we had a jam-packed day, seeing all the things I dreamed of seeing in London.. This extensive week was filled with covering all the major sights, along with some fun and charming little places, thanks to our trusty tour-guide: Rye!

My lasting memories of London include:
- The morning at the Tate Modern Gallery (Picasso´s), and Monet´s at the National to name a few of many.
- Crazy Camden markets, and trying Shisha (Rye´s Turkish Specialty with sweets, just scrumptious!),
- Trafalgar Square filled with pigeons and frozen fountains, Buckingham Palace, the Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, London Bridge --you know the drill!
- The hilarious Jerry Springer musical (being the only Westside show Dan would agree to see), we saw with my cousins, Chloe, Jovan and Melissa, Rye, and the delicious dinner,
- The Beefeater´s stories at London Tower,
- Changing of the Guards: perhaps all a bit too much fuss over what is literally guards changing over. I think this reaction was somewhat influenced by the fact that we had to go back to the site for 3 days straight, thanks to yet another Lonely Planet stuff-up!
- New Year´s Eve at a funky underground party in Old Street. And of course, the pre-dinner drinks at Min´s house, where Australian and English shots (far too many..) were tasted and compared..
- Crowds and the buzz in Picadilly Circus and Leicester Square,
- Front seat double decker bus-rides!
- The Cabinet War Rooms, and Churchill´s quote book.

And honestly, the list could go on.. Had a great time in London, and would definitely go back!

London Highs:
- Seeing my little brother again - Thanks for being a great tour-guide Rye, and for making my transition to back-packing so easy! Love the Shisha, and miss your home-cooked breakfasts! Thanks for dragging our un-fit office bodies out on the town, (when we would start to slow-down). Would not have covered so
what time is the changing of the guards?what time is the changing of the guards?what time is the changing of the guards?

probably this guy´s 100th time a tourist asked him for a photo that day but his fault for standing outside big ben!
much ground if it wasn´t for you.
- Huge lunch, dinners, and not to mention drinks with my cousins: Ninong Jun, Ninang Marilyn, Jov, Chloe, Melissa, Min -- thanks for a fantastic time! Only wish we could have spent a bit more time with you guys. Get on that plane to Sydney already!
- Reliable Metro (underground) that took me anywhere I wanted to go! Obviously, the Cityrail experiences back home have scarred me.

London Lows:
- The un-attractive long-Johns/thermal underwear.
- Queues, for just about everything!
- Leaving the ease and comfort of Woodgreen.
