Just had fish n' chips in a pub called "The Porcupine". Innocently, naively and with all good intentions, I ordered some fish n' chips. What do I get but a filet of fish with the tail still on, the head cut off and batter covering the still skin-laden meat. It was nauseating. How can a British pub mess up fish n' chips??? And John can't find Shepherd's pie anywhere. Very strange indeed.

Overall today was very overwhelming. It was good and interesting but getting adjusted to non-North American ways proved to be frustrating from the get-go. Tomorrow will run more smoothly I'm sure now that we know about voltages, paying for the loo and that fish n' chips may come with skin and tail but no head. Adapting is all part of the experience. I'm just worried how it's going to be when we're in a country where our language isn't the mother tongue!! Maybe better, we'll have less expectations.

Good night all. Miss you!!
