Picadilly Circus
The water fountain that I have only seen by night but is quite popular to get photographs at! Ivana and I had our turns getting pictures before having pizza. Hey everybody!
Well, it was a busy week where I spent a few evenings with Hannah, Chris and Mark visiting and going to IKEA. I also went to see the movie Bride Wars with Mark on Wednesday which was great. Thursday was a night in as it was busy during the day and I was exhausted from the nights before! Friday came very quickly this week and I met up with Ivana to go to the Tiger Tiger night club in Central London. She hasn't been out to a club before and really wanted to go before returning home to Serbia so I told her that I'd been to TT before and if she wanted to go out somewhere, I'd be up for it. Although we weren't on the guest list and it was invitation only, we managed to get through and it was a blast. We spent most of the evening in the 70's and 80's section so lots of oldies music (that's what it's called, I didn't say it like i think it's old okay!!!) as that's Ivana's preferred type. I enjoyed the remixes and electronic stuff they played in the basement which was cool, I think
Ripley's - Believe it or not, London
This building looked really cool all lit up, thought I'd throw in a landscape picture for you! they call it garage or something. Anyhow, good night, enjoyed some pizza afterwards and caught the night bus home which was interesting. Lots of action on those night buses, chatted with a few people who were very friendly after a night out and listened to a lot of antics at the back of the bus. Anyhow, it was a laugh and finally i got tucked into bed!
Saturday I slept in for a bit and then went to Wood Green to check out a shopping centre I had heard about. It was actually quite cool there and I managed to see some great parks on the bus ride there. I really want to get back into running and there aren't many local parks to run around! There are so many cars and houses/driveways everywhere so I am not as comfortable going for a nice long run because it gets stressful worrying about being run over. The highways at home were sooo great, even if there were car fumes to consider. Lol. So, I was excited about the park find too.
After arriving home, I started getting ready to attend Hannah's hen party (batchelorette). I went to Ola, the
spanish restaurant we went to for New Year;s eve to meet everyone. Hannah had been dressed up as Snow White and had several challenges to complete during the evening (very amusing). So, her challenges included finding a guy to test taste an apple to ensure it wasn't poisoned, having a guy rescue her and carry her to her friends (he was a valiant prince by the way), finding a guy that fit Chris' shoe for Prince Charming, getting the 7 dwarves covered by having them pose with her individually and singing a song. So, it was very entertaining to watch. I got some videos too! It was another late night and I called it good around 12:15. I luckily caught a bus before it stopped running and tried to sleep. I wasn;t feeling great and today has been okay but I think I need to catch some sleep now!
So, today I got up and met Alison, my Canadian friend from Vernon who is teaching here in London until the end of summer. We went to Trafalgar Square to watch a Chinese New Year parade. It turned out it was a show, not really a parade but after waiting
Happy Chinese New Year
Near Trafalgar Square - Feb 1.09 1.5 hours for the show to start, we were freezing! It started to snow and got really quite blizzardy after a while, it was fun though. Finally, the show started and the year of the Ox has arrived! It was quite neat, that section of the city was really abuzz with excitement. We had some chinese food and got pics with the Met police (see Facebook for more) and went to Picadilly Theatre to Christ Church London. It was a great church service with awesome worship music, good sermon and really really friendly people. I would definately like to go back! So, once we'd got out of church we headed our separate ways home and that's been my day! So, hope you are doing well. I hear the weather at home has improved and here its really really quite cold and snowy. Apparently they cancel school if it snows much and Alex thinks he won't have to go tomorrow. Ugh, I hope that they do have school though. I greatly dislike all these extra days off and term breaks every 6 weeks or less. With that aside, things are going good with the family at home. Alex had his bday
party yesterday and celebrates his 10th on Wednesday so that should be rather fun. Well, that's it for me. Hugs and goodnight, Chloe
