Hey everybody! Well, I just wanted to update a bit, unfortunately cannot post pictures on this entry but I will try on another computer at some point! So, we left London early on Saturday morning, Aug.8. We arrived in France via the Eurotunnel quite quickly, spent most of our first day travelling. We made a brief stopover on Saturday in Iepres, Belgium to see the Menen/Menin Gate. It is a war memorial site for the soldiers who were lost/unable to be identified for WW1. It was very interesting and I even found a Lenz from Canada. Originally my family name was [View Full Entry]

Hey everybody! Well, yesterday I went to Manchester really early in the AM. I met Greg, my old roommate from Vernon. I used to rent a room at his house and he's recently moved to Manchester for a period of time to work. One of his other friends from Vernon came along as well, he'd just arrived off a flight at 7am! So, it was a bit of a tiring day but we had fun...it didn't rain all day long but Manchester is known to be quite rainy. At the train station there was a constant "reminder" to watch your step [View Full Entry]

Hey everybody! Well, SUnday - July 25, I got up really early and headed by tube to London Victoria coach station. I didn't know that the Victoria line doesn't run Sundays so it was a bit of a time scare but I managed to get there right where I needed to be exactly when the tour was scheduled to depart! Close calls these days! Anyhow, we started a driving journey of about 2 hours to Blenheim Palace where SIr Winston Churchill was born. The 11th Duke of Marlborough now lives there in a section of the Palace. I got a tour [View Full Entry]

Well, couldn't find the name in the list of places so anyways, my aupair friend (Hungarian) Gabi came with me to Little Hampton. WE got a train from London Victoria that took nearly 2 hours and we arrived in this cute and friendly village. It was really refreshing coming from the big city. So, we started our day out by looking for sand toys as Gabi wanted to build sandcastles. We shopped around for a bit and ended up finding a museum of the town. It was very interesting, huge history of ships, boats, that type of trading. There was an [View Full Entry]

Well, My Dad came to visit earlier this month. We visited the Tower Bridge Exhibition in London together and got to watch the bridge open which was really neat. I will try to get a video posted on youtube so you can see it at home! I found it quite cool. Anyhow, after the bit of London adventure, we boarded a flight to Dublin arriving late Friday night. We made the most of our 2 days there, booked in for a North Coast and Malahide Castle tour on Saturday AM for 3 hours, it was really interesting, beautiful coast! The castle [View Full Entry]

Well, it was off to Devon for the weekend with my girlfriends, Hannah (friend who got married in Feb), Emma, Bethany and Julie. I was the only non-family member that came along so it was special. On Friday, we drove about 5 hours north to North Devon to a small village called Berrynabour, voted the best kept village for several years now. It's an award for the whole of England which is pretty darn good! We stayed in the Ducky Pool Cottage (Hannah's parents own it). Saturday morning we got up rather late and didn't have much morning left, ate some [View Full Entry]

Hey! It's a bit belated doing this blog but I went to Hungary with my best aupair friend Gabi in May (22 - 25) so I flew out on a Friday night with her. It was quite fun just getting there, even saw one of the Hungarian celebrities waiting to get on our flight! I don't think he was that well off because it was a Wizzair flight, good deal but shoot, they don't give you a drink/food on a 2 hr flight! Thank the Lord we are blessed with Air Canada and West Jet in Canada, man - I miss [View Full Entry]

So, we arrived in Lusaka and a few hours later, we got an early bus that actually left on time! It's quite impressive for the companies there as they can leave as much as 7 hours after predicted! While I was holding our seats on the bus, Mark went to get something for us to eat. It turned out that most of the vendors came into the buses to sell their goods so I didn't too bad just sitting there! We got to hear a sermon and prayer by a bus evangelist which was pretty neat. After 8 hours on the [View Full Entry]

Hey everybody (apologize for the delay in actually writing this update) Well, our trip started by switching drivers, we now had Ben who claimed to be the best driver in the world. The roads were a lot worse than in Malawi and it was a very bumpy ride. After several hours of driving in the sun, we were almost to South Luangwa where we would be camping with local hippos, elephants and baboons. On the way up to the campsite (about 2 hours of driving on a separate road), we came along 2 people who were trying to get a ride [View Full Entry]

Hey! Well, Africa was amazing, I am doing today's blog update on Malawi as there is just too much for each place to stick it all into one entry! Mark and I arrived in Lilongwe, Malawi after our 8 hour flight from London to Nairobi, layover for a couple hours in the AM and then 2.5 hours flight from Nairobi to Lilongwe. We were met by our driver/guide Henry and cook Raphael. We didn't yet realize that they were booked just for us for the first 5 days of our holiday. Henry was quite friendly and informed us about various things [View Full Entry]
