Hello all!
Well I'm back in Italy already after a super quick week in London. It was so great to see everyone and I did so much last week, I'm absolutely dead now! Before I went I was a bit worried about how I'd feel being back, but I seemed to just fit right back into London life again as if I'd never left. The week didn't start very well, as I got to Turin airport to discover that my case was 6kg over weight and at 20 Euros a kg I had to quickly lighten my load. I had two bottles of lemoncello in my case as presents which weighed 2.5kg so gave it to the Ryan Air woman. After stuffing as much of the remaining crap into my hand luggage as possible, I was still 1.6kg over but the woman decided to let me off that (I suppose it helps when you bribe them beforehand!).
Landed in London on the Sunday to be greeted by my dad, Wendy and of course the rain, Wendy however said that it's lucky if it rains when an important person visits (woohoo VIP coming through)! We picked Alissa up and had
a lunch of fried breakfast and jacket potato (what can I say I don't like having to choose). Then spent the afternoon with my granddad, aunts, uncles and cousins which was nice. In the evening we picked Jessica up after she finished work at the Olympics and had a massive Turkish dinner.
Monday cleared out a massive box of stuff for charity and Tuesday meet up with Holly and Bex. Hit up my fav shop Cath Kidston, then we went for Italian food (of course I flew all the way from Italy to eat Italian food hahah) and then we saw Singing In The Rain. Also we ate ice cream in the rain, because we're British and we know it!
Wednesday and Thursday chilled with my mum & Alissa in Bas Vegas, did way too much shopping, had an epic curry dinner and saw Ted at the cinema (seriously don't bother to see this film) and we made white choc chip cookies which came out really well.
Friday had a massive tourist day in London with Sau & Roz started with more shopping in Westfield, Krispy Kreme, McDonalds and a walk around the Olympic Village. My favourite
moment was when the guy working there asked me if i had a ticket. My response of course "darling when you look like this you don't need a ticket!" Then we went to Camden to visit the fake beach they've set up there, have a look around the market and I even went against all my believes and ate street food and I lived to tell the tale.
Then I dragged them to Kings Cross station to see the famous platform 9 3/4s and we had Starbucks frappes. Then a quick trip to London Bridge to see the Olympic rings and a Nandos. In London they have set up these massive screens so you can watch the Olympics wherever you are, was such a great atmosphere with everyone cheering for Team GB and in the competition we watched we came 3rd.
Two hours behind schedule we eventually arrived at Cuban Bar back in Camden where we have to que for a stupid amount of time and got chatted up by a ridiculous amount of dickheads! One even had the cheek to pretend to be American, with the fakest accent I've ever heard in my life. When I called
him out on it, he asked me if I wanted to go back to his hotel to see his I.D. so told him I was a lesbian. He asked me if I was actually a lesbian so I said to him "I'm about as Lesbian as you are American." Safe to say he wasn't impressed with that answer.
Saturday spent the day with my mum traipsing around Leigh-On-Sea, which probably wouldn't have been so bad if my legs weren't killing from all the walking I'd done the day before and I hadn't only had 4 hours sleep. Have to say it is nowhere near as beautiful as the beaches in Italy and we had to walk for an hour because my mum had to not only get a Rossi icecream, but it had to be from this one particular shop (bear in mind there was another 30 shops on the way selling exactly the same ice cream).
Flew back today at some ungodly hour (big shout out to my mum for getting up at 3.30 am to drive me to the airport, again) and had to get straight back into my normal life of washing. In the 2
minutes I left my room to hang the washing up the bloody dog managed to get in my room and eat a massive bar of Green & Blacks, which was pretty impressive seen as how it was in a bag, in a bag! I know that chocolate is poisonous to dogs so I told the parents but they just said it was okay the dogs eaten chocolate before! Really hope the dog doesn't die, otherwise the rest of my stay here will be slightly awkward.
My worst fears were also confirmed this week when I weighed myself and discovered that since I've been gone I've put on 3kgs! (That's a kg a month!!!) Seriously need to get back on it again starting tomorrow I want to be back to 62kg by the time I go back at Christmas, all I can say is thank God bikini season's over now!
Only got 7 weeks left here, I hope it goes quickly as I'm ready for a change now.
Anyway more next week ragazzi,
Soph
