London Bridge...Hit it Fergie
Far far away but I was in the vicinity Tally ho. Pip-pip and all that!
And here I am. In London. It's been almost 5 years since I was here last, and strangely it still feels familiar. Although, not exactly how I remember it. It's now day 3 since I landed on Saturday at 4pm in the afternoon and I'm still adjusting.
* Cue Blog # 2 *
So yes, arrived at Heathrow during Peak hour. That was fun waiting to get let through or rejected. The plane managed to arrive 15mins early, and yet I didn't get out of customs till about half 5.
When you walk out of Heathrow customs they basically have this big viewing gallery where there are HUNDREDS of people waiting for their loved ones and they all stare at you at the one time when you come through the gate. It's quite off-putting after a long flight. Anyways, Andy whom I used to live with, greeted me in front of everyone with an extremely embarassing sign. I won't repeat what it said, but it was rather 'humourous'. And so it begins.
I again had no sleep on the flight from Hong Kong to London due to more stewards
Piccadilly Circus...Yo yo Sanyo
I had to do some touristy things....sorry forcing me to eat- but I made the choice to go out drinking as soon as I got to London for Andy's b'day which was the day before. Wise choice Paul.
Had lots of drinks (too many) and I revisted the bar I used to work at. Andy suggested I apply for a job there whilst I am here because there was a sign that read 'staff wanted'. I just laughed and said; 'No. F*cking. Way.' I trully was desperate for cash 5 years back! Plus I didn't recognise anyone which isn't that surprising, and they are still playing the same music they were playing back then!! So that's a big fat
no thank-u!
Anyways, after that night - I managed to pass out on Sunday morning at about 8am. I slept on and off until 4am today.
As you can see, I did some touristy stuff and some shopping today. Although I must be good at ignoring the evil voice in my head now, as I went to Selfridges near Marble Arch where they have a plethera of name brand stores and I found the greatest jeans of all time. For a measley £150. I had
Big and Ben!
Gratuitous Westminster Shot just spent £100 on these really cool boots and with the jeans together, it was a match made in heaven. For 5 mins I struggled with buying them and by the end of it I just ran out of the store (after putting the jeans back) and made sure I wasn't stopped by one of the sales assistants. How is this important you ask? VERY.
I have never known the word 'moderation'. But I'm-a learnin' it!
Anyways, so I have just under 2 weeks to go before the wedding and I'm getting pretty excited. I have some people from Sydney I am going to meet up with during the week and I'm going to resist the urge to buy too many clothes however tempting it may be.
I hope. Anyways - all is well and I will blog again soon.
