Where our sink should be
Right under the window. mark and I keep wanting to pour out drinks there. Everything but the kitchen sink
When I was a younger girl, (I would like to always consider myself as young) I remember going into Ollie’s Bargain Outlet with my parents and they said, “wow, they have everything but the kitchen sink” I looked around and said, “no, there is a kitchen sink over there”. Well, I seem to take a lot of things very literal. Now, you can take the title of our blog literally. Well, almost. Our kitchen has been installed, everything but the kitchen sink. We have had a fun time having our kitchen done. (That last line is being sarcastic; I guess I am becoming British with the sarcasm). As our last blog stated we have had some problems with the kitchen. Ie, fitters not showing up, cabinets not fitting right—that would be due to the fitter that didn’t show up, and lastly our sink that was ordered did not fit. Anyways, what has been done, looks really good. The original fitter was supposed to tile as well but the fitter that showed up would not do it. So it is up to us. We are now looking for a new sink, which of course hasn’t been

This won't look so ghetto when we have the tiles and the wall painted. as easy as we thought since I refuse to have another white sink or a stainless steel one. I guess the real problem is that I am way too picky. But I absolutely love what our kitchen will look like, AND this is really pathetic but our new fridge freezer will arrive on Wednesday and it is full sized!!!!!!! I can’t wait!!
This past week has been a trying one for me. I have been really homesick and little things that normally wouldn’t bother me are getting to me. First it was the kitchen fitter not showing up. So I turned my energy back to the job search, which is proving more difficult that I thought it would be. So I make my way to Tesco’s (grocery store) to apply for a job. “Yes we are hiring, have a look at the board of vacancies”. I go look and only driving jobs are available. Ok, fine, but I have enough issues with roundabouts in my car. Picture me in a truck. Yeah, not an option. I was feeling a bit down so I went back to my car and hmm, it wouldn’t start. The only person around me was a man who didn’t speak English that was washing cars in the parking lot. (They have a service where you can get your car hand washed while you shop). So I call Mark, well I try to but my phone won’t work. I felt like I was in a bubble that didn't let anything work. Finally I get my phone to work and Mark comes to get me and the car starts. It figures.
The next day we get a kitchen fitter to show up, yippee!!! I offer to go and get lunch and get in my car, dead again. Ugh, apparently it was only the battery so really it is not a big deal, but one thing after another. So I decide to walk to the pub for lunch. I am walking back and notice that the garage door is open and the kitchen fitter who was working in the driveway(our kitchen cabinets were stored in the garage since we didn’t have any room in our house). Well, now my bike is missing. Somebody stole the bike. I was so angry. I must have just missed it because the kitchen fitter was only taking the cabinets that he had put together inside to the other guy. I guess in a positive note, I will now know how to do a police report over here.
I was so upset (couldn't stop crying, a bit awkard with two guys in my house that I didn't know)and called my brother which was a great move because he assured me that everything would be fine and that I am getting the “bad” things out of the way. And that everything happens for a reason.
Today has been a better day. I was able to open a bank account and Mark and I went to get a coffee and they sell Reese Peanut Butter cups!!!! I have been craving them for a while. I have since crossed them off my “care package list” and added York peppermint patties. Now, I just need that job to fill the bank account up. So after a not so great week, but could have been worse week, it is finally looking up. Knock on wood (our new kitchen cabinets).

Kitchen Sink
Emily - After I finished your blog I looked on the right hand side of the page and there are four or five advertizements for kitchen sinks. You might want to try Blanco Kitchen sinks, the Oliveri Sink Experts or Copper farmhouse sinks - how funny is that???? Love ya both! M
