We arrived at eight at Natural Retreats, St Austell - a group of beach hut come Swedish lodge looking villas. Our vision may have been rose-tinted after our very long journey from York but when we went inside our admiring thoughts were confirmed by a beautifully decorated spacious modern villa. Although it had a contemporary feel, locally painted pictures of the surrounding area gave it a unique coastal feel. The bedrooms were huge with a wardrobe so big it could easily host the quite extensive amount of clothes I needlessly brought; each had an en-suite bathroom. My room had an enormous bath that could have fitted at least three people in - we were truly spoilt with space. Elmo, the dog, retreated at once to the decking, whilst we unpacked far too much stuff in which we had brought. This was truly the perfect base for our week exploring the Cornish coast!
