BISC WEARING HIS CROCS!
Biscuit loves his new crocs!! Finally we have heard back from Airpets and have been told that my dogs now have their import permits and a place in quarantine in Perth.
We have to drop them off at the Airpets kennels just outside Heathrow on the 5th November and they fly out on the 6th November and will land in Perth the next day.
So seeing as though the dogs are more organised than myself I have now started looking at flights for us both - I think we will fly out sometime in the first week of November ... which means that after we move out of the house we will have 6 weeks with no house and not working .. panic! I think that I might have to go temping as it has been years since I have done this so might give me a bit of confidence for when we get over to Oz. Doug also might have to go in work for a few of the weeks to help hand over his role to his replacement.
Now ... knowing how much work we have to do before we go - normal motivated people would just get on and do
DOUG & DOGS
Dougie & Dogs on Crantock Beach it ... myself and Doug on the other hand decided to go camping in Newquay (and you wonder why we never get anything done!).
We both love the lifestyle in Cornwall (all laid back, chilled and by the sea) and it has made us a little more excited about the move!
Although after 4 nights in the tent (which is technicaly bigger that our house as it boasts 3 bedrooms!) we have now decided that we might give the camping lark a wide berth as it was really cold at night ... and we went through 2 air beds which might have something to do with the fact that we have 2 mad dogs who don't seem to enjoy the lack of home comforts - as at one point we found both dogs snuggled up to each other in the bedroom of the tent on the air bed and myself and Doug were sat on the floor watching!
We have been to Newquay many times and our favourite campsite 'Monkey Tree' is the best. We always head down to Fistral Beach when we go but this time we found a lovely beach called Crantock (that actually allows
Me & Doug!
Not a care in the world! dogs!) so spent most of the days there.
The dogs loved being by the sea and Oz the younger dog would wake us up as soon as it was light by dropping a tennis ball onto our heads as he wanted to get out on the beach to play!
One of the days we headed on to Fistral where we stayed until the dogs embarrased us so much we had to leave the beach!
They had been in the sea for hours playing catch with Doug with the tennis ball and they must have swallowed loads of sea water as when they came up the beach to find me ... a really posh lady bent over to pat Oz saying what a beautiful labrador he was .. at that precise moment Oz started projectile vomiting sea water all over her feet ... closely followed by Bisc who started pooing sea water all over the beach .. Doug was mortified and desperately tried to get it in the doggy poo bags!
I on the other hand was in hysterics much to the dismay of Doug who started dragging the dogs off the beach on their leads.
When we got to the top of the stairs that lead down to the beach Oz started pooing sea water on the grass in front of loads of kids who were having picnics with their parents but worse still it landed on Biscuit's face who just sat there with it all over him!
So you can imagine that at this precise point I was practically hysterical and could hardly walk as I was laughing so much and Doug was horrified!
Apart from this we had the best time ever and the weather was great which helped! We stayed down in Cornwall for 5 days before the guilt got to us and we came back home to try to start packing up the the house.
The shippers will be turning up on the 26th to take away the furniture and we haven't even started thinking about what we are taking yet .. we will have to get more organised but as always we seem to be finding other things to do instead!
Over the weekend we had a leaving party organised by the neighbours and went out for a meal. They all clubbed together and had got
FISTRAL BEACH
Aahh the beach! us some aussie dollars as a pressie! After we got the coach back home I fell over and hurt my ankle although I was so drunk that I didn't really feel it at the time!
But on the Sunday morning (when all the booze had worn off!) I woke up to think that my ankle was broken (drama queen coming out in me!). So at 9 am I convinced Doug to take me to A&E ... where I was told I had just sprained it ... so I was really disappointed I didn't get any crutches!
Last night was my leaving party from work (joint leaving do with someone else who is migrating to New Zealand) and we went to La Tasca in Manchester (great spanish tapas) and then on to the Walkabout Aussie pub in Deansgate .... where with a combination of sangria from La Tasca and cocktails in Walkabout I got very drunk ... again ... but thanfully didn't fall over this time!
With a few more leaving parties on the horizon in the next few weeks - I honestly think I could end up with a drinking problem before we go - or broken
Dodgy Group Piccie!
The AB gang out at Walkabout in Manchester! legs from falling over drunk!
We now have 3 weeks left at work and I am getting really scared about the whole thing. I think that I will be really upset on our leaving day (28th Sep) as it is also the day we exchange on the house.
It still feels that it is happening to someone else and I cannot still picture Doug and me living over in Oz. I keep asking Doug if he feels the same but he is more controlled than myself and keeps telling me everything will be ok although I can start to see that look in his eyes that he is scared too ... not too sure when it will feel real?
