At last blue sky so up for the day at the glacier.. suspension bridge funicular and lake hike. Set off at 10am need to get supplies in for weekend due to shops shutting at 5 and no sundays however as we only have a cool bag we decide to deal with it later - lous salmonella fear leading the way with this decision - I can see where this will head when day was meant to be 9-6! Arrived at glacier in brilliant sunshine and walked down and inside the glacier views amazing . Best quote from lou look at that it looks like sheets over the ice - thats because it is sheets covering the ice ! Over the ice grotto part to stop it melting too quick ( moves 10cm a day ). Travelled on to handegg for picnic lunch then crossing suspension bridge over gorge only 70m so not too scary however the sight of the tracks of europes steepest funicular was! Got 2.30 tickets and ones down were 4.15 told u we would struggle with supermarket. Start of journey wasnt too bad open air carriages going up backwards but half way up omg it was awful brain mixed up about up down and 106 degree angle and 400 m up in air shut my eyes for rest of that bit . Lake beautiful and green at top made it half way round - me and lou turned back steve soldiered on but after an argument with a waterfall also decided to turn back.the journey back down was fine but time ticking for supermarket so the bends were taken at breakneck speed but found none till 5.10.
