Italian-Swiss border. Today was probably the worst hangover I’d have the whole trip. Also, my muscles hurt so badly today I could barely get out of bed. We were up early, had breakfast, and began our long drive to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland. I slept for the first three hours, and then we made a stop in Milan, where I had spaghetti (again). I’m finding that Italy is more expensive than the other countries we’ve been to, or maybe I’m just buying more stuff here. We had a smooth crossing at the Swiss-Italian border, and then we were on our way to Lucerne. About half an hour from the city, Filippo was telling us all about Switzerland, and how they have many rules. Just then a police car sped up in front of us and flashed a sign telling us to follow him. Not too many people noticed, especially Filippo who was facing the back of the bus. All of a sudden he stops and exclaims “Where are we?” We were at a police station. How ironic that we would get a personal taste of the Swiss rules just as Filippo was explaining about them. I mostly slept on the drive to Lauterbrunnen, but I remember the road was very windy, going all the way up into the mountains. It reminded me of the drive to Hana in Hawaii, or like the Malahat on the way to Victoria. When we arrived it was breathtaking. Lauterbrunnen is a tiny village in the middle of a valley in the Swiss Alps. There are waterfalls everywhere, and sheep with little bells on their collars. It was such an amazing atmosphere. There wasn’t really any huge tourist attractions but it is still one of my favourite places I’ve been so far. The place we were staying for the next two nights was Contiki’s own chalet, where I was rooming with Faith, Korryn, and Emily. The rooms weren’t too bad, except the showers were downstairs. After dinner and some time on the Internet, me, Melissa, and Korryn went for a walk in the town. The houses are all so picturesque. It was getting dark, so we headed back to the hotel. I was going

Cabins at Lauterbrunnen to take it easy tonight, after my big night yesterday. I was probably asleep by 9 pm.
