Ferry boat off the island
So we finally left Formentera on Tuesday 4 December. The ferry that we took from Formentera to Ibiza was Formentera Cargo – half the cost of the Balearia ferry cost, but a bit of a longer crossing. We were worried that it might not sail as it was pretty windy, but it was bearable. We stayed over night on Ibiza and the next day took the Acconia ferry to Barcelona – again under half the price of Balearia. The Barcelona crossing was nine hours, but was relatively calm with some choppy episodes! We arrived at Barcelona about 8pm and drove to a campsite in Sitges, about an hour from Barcelona. We are now governed by camp sites that are open all year which will give us a lot less choice.
