The first of the Gaudi.
Well, my first big adventure trip was a success and a blast! Spain was great- and Barcelona is a fun, exciting city!
My travel buddy this trip was this guy Travis. We got into the city in the afternoon on Tuesday, and had 2 full days after that. The first day we walked around for a bit and kinda got our bearings for the city. It actually took us a while to find the hostel, but it was nice. Except for the fact that the women running it had creepy, fat cats that lurked around outside of our room! We were right by Las Ramblas though, which is the big famous street there. At first I thought the city was much larger than it ended up feeling. I mean it is a huge city, but we were able to walk a good deal of it.
The first night we had some tapas and wine, and ended up at this bar in the middle of all these insane, hilarious Scottish soccer fans. We had a great vantage point to just kinda observe their craziness. The next day we took a hop-on, hop-off bus tour which took us to the famous

Gaudi Church. That just blew me away. It is so gorgeous and the architecture is like no other that I've ever seen. We also went to the Gaudi park which had some great architecture as well. It also had a great overlook of the city. We got to go to the port/marina area and walk along the beach too. It was a full sightseeing day.
The next day we went to the big main market for breakfast. I had this amazing veggie frittata and a great cup of coffee. After that we went to the Picasso museum and saw a few other sights. That night we found this yummy tapas bar and enjoy that and some Sangria. After that... the Wilco concert! It was at this cool venue that was like a large club/bar place. It was packed and they sounded great. It was such a good show. Definitely worth the Euro on that one!
We made it back to Garmisch and the SNOW. Yes it is snowing again. This afternoon it actually turned to more of a rain/slush. But it does look absolutely beautiful on the mountains in the trees. I walked home from work today and

it was not a bad walk at all.
The Christmas markets should be opening soon, which is so exciting! The Edelweiss is having an employee Thanksgiving meal on the 16th and I'm working so hopefully I'll be able to go to that on my break. I'm still waiting to hear about my December time for London. Hopefully that will work out. Well, only 7 more days to go in this working stretch- replenishing that bank account I suppose!
