So as I said in the last blog, Maddy wanted to do the update for this one as she was so excited about going, so read on and enjoy...
Okay, so the alarm goes off at 7.15 and we snooze it a couple of times, you would have though that after my excitement the previous day and night that I would be up and ready to go out the door!! Once we are up, Sam realized what the time was and decided that we had no time for breakfast, this made me sad as I didn’t want to become hungry and grumpy. We waited at reception for our 8.40 pick up which didn’t happen until 9.
It took about an hour and 15 mins to get to Loro Parque in our fully air-conditioned (cold) coach. The weather was a bit overcast which was nice really for walking round all day. Once we got in to the park and after getting my 1 Euro hat, and we headed straight to the café for a coffee and mars bar. We had until 4.30 to look around, which seemed like a long time. The park was amazing, we
made full use of the shows that were on offer, Killer Whale, Dolphin and Seal – luckily I managed to keep Sam away from sitting us in the ‘Splash Zone’ while watching the Whale show, which I think he was happy with in the end. The Gorillas were great and the penguin house that they had set up was really good with a ton of snow falling on the penguins a day, some of them were so cute! After already tiring ourselves out we had some lunch and a waffle with chocolate sauce to keep us going in the afternoon. Sam said he would buy me a present in the gift shop, I decided not to have one as didn’t really want a dolphin purse or pillow with a monkey stitched onto it!
My favorite thing of the whole day, apart from all of it was the seal show…It was so funny how cheesy it can get and what they can teach them to do. Overall it was an awesome day, and I think Sam is please that I have stopped going on about it now! The journey back was okay, and while writing this Sam is
reminding me that he saw some girls pants, y’know the girl that had the same dress and shoes that you have…
If you like parrots don’t go to Loro Park (or Parrot Parque I think it means) there were so many parrots making noise all day you will come out hating them. I don’t think I want to see another parrot for a while!
We got back to the hotel and had a snooze and I made sure that we didn’t miss out on our meal! After food we sat in the bar for a bit and spoke to a couple that we had met at the welcome meeting, oh and having Disserano, lemonade and grenadine is not a good idea...We came back up to the room and watched Kick Ass the movie. We went to bed and I think for 1
st time since we have been here the baby from next door (that sounds like it lives in our air-conditioning unit) didn’t wake us up through crying.
So I hope you all enjoyed Maddy's retelling of our Loro Parque adventure, Next update will be Monday sometime, as we have done
nothing today, but tomorrow we will be checkout the Sunday market in Los Christinanos, and in the evening we will be heading up Mount Teide.
